During Maple Weekend – March 19-20 & 26-27, 2022 - maple farms across the state invite visitors to their “sugar houses” to experience firsthand how pure, mouth-watering maple syrup and other related products are made. Visitors can also enjoy fun, family-friendly activities, taste New York’s freshest syrup and purchase maple products.

Visit Critz Farms and Ben & Judy’s Sugarhouse in Madison County for sugar house tours, samples, activities and much more.

Critz Farms will be boiling sap on a wood-fired evaporator. Sugar house tours and wagon rides into the sugarbush will be offered from 9am-3pm. They’ll be serving an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet from 9am-1pm, featuring pancakes with fresh Critz Farms maple syrup, French toast, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, maple-cooked ham, juice, coffee, tea and hot cocoa.

Critz Farms will also offer maple popcorn and other specialty items for sale. The on-site Farm Brewery & Cidery tasting room will be open, serving hand crafted hard ciders and beers sweetened with pure maple syrup. They’ll also be open April 2-3, 2022.

At Ben & Judy’s Sugarhouse, watch the evaporator and sap releaser at work. If not boiling, you can expect a guided tour with samples explaining the complete process of making syrup including the filtering process, making of candy, maple cream and maple jelly. They’ll be open 10am to 4pm for samples and tours.

Though not participating in Maple Weekend this year, Many Maples Farms is a proud third-generation Maple producer with a passion for Maple. In addition to syrup, they have a wide array of Maple Products for sale at their Sugarhouse including maple granulated sugar, maple sugar shapes, maple cream and maple ice cream when available.

Maple Weekend is organized and sponsored by the New York State Maple Producers Association.
