Overview
Colgate's own collections of archaeological artifacts are the foundation of the museum. The collections are strongest in Northeastern archaeological materials as well as pre-Columbian sculpture of Mexico and the Andes. The exhibition program aims to demonstrate the rich artistic heritage of indigenous peoples past and present; show that indigenous peoples exist today and continue to produce objects of beauty; and showcase contemporary art produced within non-European cultures. Hours: Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.; and the third Thursday of every month 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Closed Mondays, major holidays and academic breaks.
