Soldier’s Joy: The Civil War in Songs and Letters


“Soldiers Joy” is a collaboration by two of the area’s well known traditional musicians who have joined to celebrate “the first real American music” – the music of the Civil war.
Join Bill Fahy and Amanda Straney of Craobh Dugan as they present the music of the Civil War and share the stories behind the songs, with letters and stories from the soldiers from Oneida County and NY State. You’ll hear the song that was banned by the Union Army, Stephen Foster’s last song, and the Army’s most popular marching song.
Tickets will be sold at the door, starting at 3:30pm. Pricing is $10 for general admission, $5 for members, $3 for students (age 12+), Free for children under 12.
