During Maple Weekend, Critz Farms (3232 Rippleton Rd., Cazenovia) and Many Maples Farm (697 Route 26, Georgetown) invite visitors to their “sugar houses” to experience firsthand how pure, mouth-watering maple syrup and other related products are made.
Critz Farms will be boiling sap on a wood-fired evaporator. Sugar house tours and wagon rides into the sugarbush will be offered from 9am-3pm. They’ll be serving an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet from 9am-1pm, featuring pancakes with fresh Critz Farms maple syrup, French toast, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, maple-cooked ham, juice, coffee, tea and hot cocoa (Pancake Breakfast Prices: 3-7 years old $3.95, 8-12 years old $6.95, over 12 years old and adult $9.95).
Critz Farms will also offer maple popcorn and other specialty items for sale along with free samples! The on-site Farm Brewery & Winery tasting room will be open, serving hand crafted hard ciders and beers sweetened with pure maple syrup.
At Many Maples Farm, enjoy the new pancake breakfast, their scenic valley and wood-fired evaporator. Offering tours from tap to table, free samples of their products and even recipes and advice on cooking with maple. They’ll also have maple syrup, maple granulated sugar, maple sugar shapes and maple cream available for purchase.
On March 17-18, Many Maples Farm will hold an all-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast, featuring pancakes, sausage, coffee, hot chocolate and orange juice for $8.
