The Cazenovia Opera House was acquired by the College in 1968. Almost 40 years later, the Catherine Cummings Theatre continues to contribute to the academic programs of Cazenovia College, its co-curricular activities and the cultural life of the surrounding Cazenovia Community. The theatre presents cultural events, lectures, plays musicals, meetings, Theatre camps, fund-raisers, the Jazz `N Caz jazz fest, and many other events.

Cazenovia Artisans features talented Cazenovia area artists and crafters, exhibiting and selling high-quality, hand-crafted goods. The shop offers you a unique, diverse and ever-changing display of items for gifts, to wear or to enhance your home. Participating artisans accept custom orders and staff the shop which is open daily. The artisans are committed to increasing the awareness of artistic talent in the greater Cazenovia area by highlighting area artists and their work and by providing a unique shopping experience for all.

The Cazenovia College Art Gallery is housed in the College’s Art & Design building, located at the corner of Sullivan and Seminary streets, just one block from Albany Street (Route 20). Exhibitions at the Cazenovia College Art Gallery are free and open to the public.

Gallery Hours: Monday through Thursday, 1-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m Friday, 1-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 2-6 p.m.

The Nelson Odeon, a renovated small community minded center for performances. The Odeon promotes local music from across New York State along with well respected national and international acts. Stone Quarry Hill Art Park, one of the first outdoor sculpture parks in the country, sits atop a breathtaking rural landscape of upstate New York hills, meadows and forests. Tucked into these elements of natural beauty are Stone Quarry’s heart: original, one-of-a-kind works of art. The Art Park serves a dual mission: preservation of the land, and to the creation and exhibition of sculpture, inspired by the relationship between art and nature. Sculptures are placed throughout the more than 100 acre site: in fields and woodlands, along hedgerows and trails and beside or even in ponds or gardens. Most are created especially for the Art Park, and many are designed to dissolve eventually back into nature. The park reflects the dynamism of both art and nature, as every exhibition brings new work and every season takes some away. The Art Park is open year-round, everyday from dawn to dusk. The EOH Arts Center is home to the charming 1892 historic theater and the two noteworthy Art Galleries that host more than 25 diverse performances and 10 exhibits every year. Tours are free. Exhibits feature all media and styles from contemporary art to quilts. The Artisan’s Gift Shop sells the work of more than 35 regional artists. The performance series is extremely eclectic and includes folk, rock, blues, Celtic, classical, world music, musical theater, drama, jazz, Zydeco and Cajun music, bluegrass and country music. From Circus Camp to theater workshops, from volunteer opportunities to master classes, the Opera House offers something for everyone. The free EOH Family Series expands opportunities for children and families to engage in the arts. Musicians and audiences alike enjoy the exquisite acoustics of this National Historic Landmark Theater. It is a marvelous example of turn-of-the-century architecture. Music at Colgate brings Madison County fine performances by renowned professional players (some recent stars have been The Boston Brass, jazz singer Jane Monheit, and world music group Viva Quetzal) and by Colgate University\’s high quality student ensembles -- Orchestra, Chorus, Chamber Players, Jazz Ensemble. MAD Art, Inc. is a not for profit comprehensive community arts organization dedicated to providing exhibition space and support for local member artists. In addition to our gallery we offer arts based workshops in a variety of media and levels with the goal of expanding arts and art appreciation in Madison County. The Palace Theater is a Performing Arts Center presenting live national, regional, community and collegiate (Colgate University) theater rich with drama, musicals, comedy and a family series. The theater is an intimate environment seating 300 (audience) or 140 (cabaret) creating an energized and personal experience between the audience and performer. It is also a banquet hall accommodating weddings, receptions, graduations, corporate events and more. Its location in the culturally diverse, historic village of Hamilton, New York (central Mohawk Valley region) provides the visitor opportunities to enjoy a relaxed, friendly community, boutiques and fine casual dining, all within easy walking distance.

Slater Brothers Entertainment is a multi dimensional entertainment company capable of producing major sporting, art, and film events! The company places special emphasis on working with governmental, non-profit, and charitable organizations. SBE will hold its annual film festival this August 2nd-5th in Hamilton, NY as a way to give back to the food cupboard and local High School sports and educational divisions.

Through the Film Festival, the Slater brothers aim to bring a piece of Hollywood back to the area they proudly grew up in and provide a platform to recognize local area talent and advance the careers aspiring filmmakers. Supported by Hamilton and Colgate University, this year’s festival kicks off with a VIP reception at Colgate for film directors producers, and other special VIP invited guests on August 6th at 7pm. The first film will be screened at 8:30pm on Friday night following the opening reception. Events will continue throughout the weekend and include a festival closing night event to take place at The Palace Theater Saturday night, as well as a closing night party to happen in downtown Hamilton.

The Picker Art Gallery at Colgate University offers a regular schedule of special exhibitions, lectures, activities for families with children, concerts, and other events, as well as frequently-changing displays drawn from the permanent collection of more than 10,000 objects. Strengths of the permanent collection include the Dr. Luther W. Brady, Honorary Doctor of Fine Arts 1988, Collection of Modern Art; the Gary M. Hoffer, Class of 1974, Memorial Photography Collection; the Theodore and Evelyn Herman Collection of Chinese Woodcuts; the Yevgeny Khaldei Collection of Photographs; the Nast Collection of Political Cartoons; and the Herbert A.
