Cazenovia College offers the public numerous cultural, entertainment and athletic activities at no charge or at reasonable rates. The Cazenovia College Theatre and Art Gallery host numerous art exhibitions, theater productions, musical performances and other events. Cazenovia College’s athletic complex features a gym, swimming pool, tennis courts, outdoor playing fields and summer programs. The Equine Education Center is home to the college’s nationally recognized equestrian program and riding teams, and hosts numerous events throughout the year.

The Beattie Sanctuary is an exclusive property situated on a 27-acre estate in Cazenovia, New York that provides a meaningful location for instructors, businesses, groups, individuals and families who wish to teach or receive educational experiences of all kinds. We rent indoor and outdoor space to quality instructors who teach unique class topics. These classes are open to the community, and we encourage both students and potential instructors to explore our amazing property. We gladly welcome young learners and school groups interested in nature-based adventures. We are excited to utilize the ecosystem on the estate to foster interest in the outdoors and facilitate interactive learning. We provide a variety of spaces for businesses and groups who require multiple location options to host meetings and events – from indoor to outdoor, small to large – set to a stunning backdrop that inspires relaxation and creativity.

Colgate is a nationally recognized liberal arts college set on a beautiful campus in central New York. Some 2,750 undergraduates are enrolled in 51 programs, taking advantage of the university’s award-winning curriculum, off-campus study program, and numerous research opportunities. Students enjoy small class sizes taught by expert faculty members -- not teaching assistants.

Music at Colgate brings Madison County fine performances by renowned professional players (some recent stars have been The Boston Brass, jazz singer Jane Monheit, and world music group Viva Quetzal) and by Colgate University’s high quality student ensembles -- Orchestra, Chorus, Chamber Players, Jazz Ensemble. The mission of Colgate University’s Upstate Institute is to create links between the university and the community by engaging students, faculty, staff, and residents in research and a reciprocal transfer of knowledge that enhances the economic, social and cultural capacity of the area, and sustains the environment. The Institute provides students opportunities to apply their knowledge and skills in real world settings and to engage in the community. The Institute supports the region through scholarly collaboration.
